Microsoft has unveiled two new preview builds of Windows 11 for Insiders, specifically targeting those on the Dev and Beta Channels. These updates, designated as the 25H2 Dev build 26200.5733 and the 24H2 Beta build 26120.5733, introduce notable enhancements to both File Explorer and the Settings app, along with a series of bug fixes aimed at improving user experience.
Enhancements to File Explorer
One of the key changes in these builds is the revamped Home section of File Explorer for users logged in with a work or school account. The interface now features people icons prominently displayed at the top of the File Explorer Home and within the “Activity” column. This enhancement allows users to hover over or click on an icon to reveal the Microsoft 365 contact details for that individual, streamlining collaboration and communication.
Adjustments in Settings
In a shift that may require some adjustment, the new builds have removed the option to clear Bing Search history directly from the Privacy & Security section of the Settings app. Insiders will now need to navigate to the web-based Privacy dashboard to manage their Bing search history, a change that emphasizes the integration of online tools into the operating system.
Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements
In addition to these updates, Microsoft has addressed several bugs that have impacted user experience. Notably, an issue causing the updated Start menu to crash for some Insiders has been resolved. Furthermore, a bug affecting multi-finger touchpad gestures has also been fixed, ensuring smoother navigation and interaction for users relying on touchpad functionality.
