Customizing the Taskbar in Windows 11 Build 22635.3790
Several days ago, keen Windows enthusiasts uncovered that Microsoft is currently developing new features for the taskbar in Windows 11. In the latest build 22635.3790, which was recently rolled out for testing in the Beta Channel, users now have the option to disable certain features such as switching to a shortened date format and turning off the notification bell, resulting in a more streamlined and minimal taskbar experience.
Although Microsoft has not officially mentioned these features in the release notes for build 22635.3790, users can still enable them using the ViVeTool app. Twitter user @PhantomOfEarth shared the IDs required to activate these features:

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to activate the new taskbar customization features in Windows 11 build 22635.3790:
- Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient location.
- Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin).
- Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile using the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window.
- Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files using the CD command. For example, if you placed ViveTool in C:Vive, type CD C:Vive.
- Type vivetool /enable /id:48525682 and press Enter to enable the shortened date option for the system clock.
- Type vivetool /enable /id: 49082522 and press Enter to enable the ability to hide the notification bell.
- Restart your computer.
