Microsoft has unveiled a fresh build of Windows 11, designated as 27723, exclusively for members of the Windows Insider Program on the Canary Channel. - [REMINDER] The expiration date for Insider Preview builds on the Canary Channel has been updated to September 15, 2025, starting with Build 27695. Users are encouraged to ensure they are on the latest build.
[Search on the Taskbar]
- The rollout of the capability to share local files directly from the search results in the taskbar’s search box has begun.
[Voice Access]
- Enhancements have been made to the spelling and corrections experience in voice access, allowing users to dictate characters more swiftly and offering greater editing flexibility with commands for selection, deletion, and text navigation.
[Fonts]
- A new simplified Chinese font, Simsun-ExtG, has been introduced, featuring 9,753 ideographs that support Unicode Extensions G, H, and I. This includes the highly sought-after character for Biangbiang noodles, recognized as one of the most intricate Chinese characters.
- Unicode range G: 30000-3134A (4,939 characters)
- Unicode range H: 31350-323AF (4,192 characters)
- Unicode range I: 2EBF0-2EE5D (622 characters)
[Settings]
- The detach virtual hard disk (VHD/VHDx) button, previously added under Settings > System > Storage > Disks & Volumes in Build 27686, has been temporarily disabled starting with Build 27718. Microsoft is working to reinstate this feature in an upcoming flight.
Known Issues
[General]
- [IMPORTANT NOTE FOR COPILOT+ PCs] Users transitioning to the Canary Channel on a new Copilot+ PC from the Dev Channel, Release Preview Channel, or retail may encounter issues with Windows Hello PIN and biometrics, receiving error 0xd0000225. Users can recreate their PIN by selecting “Set up my PIN.”
- [NEW] Reports are being investigated regarding crashes of certain games, including Microsoft Solitaire & Casual Games, upon launching after the installation of Build 27718.
- [NEW] Some Insiders are still facing rollbacks (error code 0xc190010) when attempting to install the latest Canary builds, which is under investigation.
[Input]
- Microsoft is addressing an underlying issue that prevents the Emoji Panel and Clipboard History from opening in specific surfaces, including the Registry Editor.
