Windows 11’s new update will add a bunch of AI features

Microsoft is poised to enhance the user experience on Windows 11 with the introduction of its innovative Copilot Vision tool, designed to scan and analyze content displayed on users’ screens. This feature is part of a broader rollout of new AI capabilities that promise to streamline various tasks and improve productivity.

Accessible through the Copilot app, Copilot Vision allows users to engage with their digital environment in a more interactive manner. By simply asking questions aloud about what they see across multiple applications and webpages, users can receive immediate assistance. For instance, one might inquire about how to enhance the lighting of a photograph, and the tool will provide guidance accordingly. This feature builds on a limited version that Microsoft began testing last year, showcasing the company’s commitment to refining its AI offerings.

Exclusive Features for Copilot Plus PCs

For users equipped with Snapdragon-powered Copilot Plus PCs, Microsoft is introducing an AI-driven “agent” within the Settings app. This feature enables users to search for specific settings using natural language, such as “I want to enable quiet hours” or “connect Bluetooth device.” If the agent can perform the requested task, it will offer to execute it, thereby simplifying the user experience.

Additionally, the “Click to Do” preview feature is being enhanced for Copilot Plus PCs. Activated by pressing the Windows key and left-clicking on an app or piece of content, this tool is designed to facilitate quick actions, such as summarizing text or drafting documents in Microsoft Word using Copilot. New actions will also include practicing reading fluency with the Reading Coach tool and scheduling meetings in Microsoft Teams.

Moreover, Copilot Plus PCs will enjoy unique features such as an AI-powered sticker generator in Paint, an object selection tool for image editing, and an AI lighting option in Photos. The Snipping Tool will also receive a “perfect screenshot” feature, utilizing AI to accurately capture content on the screen.

Enhancements for All Windows 11 Users

In addition to the AI advancements, Microsoft is rolling out several features that will benefit all Windows 11 users. A new color picker will be integrated into the Snipping Tool, along with an automatic issue resolution mechanism to address unexpected restarts. These updates are part of a comprehensive effort to enhance the overall functionality and reliability of the Windows operating system.

Microsoft has indicated that these features will be available over the next month, with some already accessible through the latest non-security preview update and via downloads from the Microsoft Store. As the tech giant continues to innovate, users can look forward to a more intuitive and efficient computing experience.
