Xbox app on Windows is getting a new Home page with games, deals, recommendations, more

Xbox Insiders on Windows are in for a treat with the latest update rolling out on the Xbox app. Microsoft has unveiled a revamped Home experience, designed to provide users with a more cohesive and streamlined interface that prioritizes easy access to games.

Unified Home Experience

The development team shared insights on Xbox Wire, stating, “We’ve listened to your feedback and have been testing different designs internally over the last several months.” Their mission is clear: to create a unified Home experience that merges the best content from both the Game Pass and Microsoft Store tabs. This integration aims to simplify the user journey, allowing players to discover their favorite titles without the hassle of navigating through multiple tabs.

At the forefront of this new Home page is a featured content panel, which will prominently display:

  • New game releases across Xbox platforms
  • Current events and promotions
  • Recent additions to Game Pass
  • Sales and special offers

Additionally, a dedicated deals section will highlight the latest gaming discounts available on the Microsoft Store, ensuring that players are always in the loop about the best bargains.

Another exciting feature being introduced is a personalized recommendations section. This will curate suggestions based on users’ previous purchases and gameplay history, making it easier for players to discover new games they might enjoy, whether from Game Pass or the store.

For those utilizing Compact Mode, the new Home experience will also incorporate the “Jump Back In” option. This feature showcases the player’s most recently played games at the top of the page, providing quick access to their game hubs and allowing them to seamlessly continue their adventures.

Players eager to explore this new Home page can enroll in the ongoing Insider Previews through the Xbox Insider Hub app available on the Microsoft Store. The Insider Preview version hosting this innovative experience is “2411.1000.49.0.” Microsoft is also actively seeking feedback on this new feature through a survey, inviting users to share their thoughts and insights.
