Downdetector, a platform dedicated to tracking online service disruptions, noted that over 200 complaints regarding Instagram were logged earlier today, while Facebook Messenger saw at least 50 users experiencing similar issues.

The frustration among users was palpable, with many taking to other platforms to voice their grievances. One user lamented, “Instagram down again, they need to fix this s*** for real,” while another inquired, “Is Instagram down for others too?” Such sentiments echo a familiar narrative, as this is not the first instance of Instagram encountering technical difficulties. Last October, users across the UK awoke to find the app malfunctioning, resulting in over 543 reports of downtime within a single morning.
According to Downdetector, the recent issues appeared to affect multiple regions, with around 500 reports from the UK in just ten minutes and over 1,500 from India. The Independent highlighted that approximately 70% of the reported problems stemmed from users unable to log into Instagram, disrupting their usual morning routine of scrolling through friends’ photos and memes.

Downdetector’s analytics provide a detailed overview of the problem reports submitted over the past 24 hours, contrasting them with typical reporting volumes throughout the day. The platform clarified that while some issues are expected to arise intermittently, they only flag incidents when the number of reports significantly surpasses the usual levels for that time.
Fortunately, it appears that the situation has largely improved, as indicated by a notable decline in complaints. By 7:43 AM, the number of reported Instagram outages had dwindled to just 44, suggesting that users may soon return to their beloved app.
