Global Interest in Silksong
Among the wishlists, 20 percent originate from the United States, while 15 percent come from China. Other countries contributing to this enthusiastic tally include Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Russia, all of which rank within the Top Ten. The original Hollow Knight, released in 2017, has also enjoyed significant success, selling over nine million copies on Steam alone.
Initially conceived as downloadable content for its predecessor, Silksong has since evolved into a standalone game. Team Cherry has maintained a veil of secrecy around the project, leading to a highly engaged and passionate fanbase. The subreddit r/Silksong serves as a vibrant hub for fans, showcasing their excitement and anticipation.
Elliott notes that the sporadic updates from Team Cherry have turned each piece of information into a celebrated event. “The community treats each drip of information as an event in itself – whether it’s a blog post about enemy design, confirmation of a 2025 release, or even an update to the game’s Steam page,” he remarked. Competition in the Wishlist Rankings
Following closely behind in the Steam wishlist rankings is Battlefield 6, which has attracted 2.8 million eager gamers, in addition to 657,000 pre-orders. Arc Raiders, developed by former DICE staff at Embark, holds the third position with 2.5 million users. Meanwhile, Dying Light: The Beast and Borderlands 4 occupy the fourth and fifth spots, with 2.3 million and 1.8 million wishlists, respectively.
