Samsung continues to expand its Good Lock ecosystem, introducing a new app known as the Gallery Assistant beta. This latest addition aims to consolidate various photo and video editing functionalities into a single, user-friendly interface.
Features of Gallery Assistant Beta
Currently available for testing in South Korea, the Gallery Assistant beta app is designed for users with One UI 8 devices, specifically the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7/FE. Interested users can sign up for the beta through the Samsung Members app.
The app boasts an array of features that enhance the editing experience, including:
- Advanced cropping and rotation options for precise adjustments.
- Media compression capabilities, allowing users to optimize file sizes.
- Watermark functionality, which includes the ability to create custom watermarks that can repeat at intervals across images.
- Image comparison tools for side-by-side evaluations.
- PDF conversion for saving images in a widely accessible format.
- Batch processing to extract subjects from multiple images simultaneously.
While some of these features are already present in Samsung’s built-in photo editor, the Gallery Assistant beta aims to provide a more streamlined and comprehensive editing experience. Users can also adjust media compression settings using a convenient slider and select HEVC for video files.
This new app has the potential to complement Samsung’s Camera Assistant, which allows users to customize various camera settings such as shutter behavior and audio monitoring. Together, these applications could significantly enhance the photographic capabilities of Samsung devices.
