Summit Returns to Black Ops 7
In a much-anticipated revival, Summit, one of the most celebrated maps in Call of Duty history, is set to make its grand return in Black Ops 7 as part of the extensive Season 3 Reloaded patch. This nostalgic addition allows players to revisit the exhilarating battles that defined their gaming experiences back in 2010 with Black Ops 1.
Nestled within a research facility atop a snowy mountain, Summit presents players with a labyrinth of narrow corridors leading to a central research room, replete with computers and desks that serve as perfect cover. Originally introduced in BO1, this iconic map has seen updated iterations in Black Ops 3 and 4, but 2018 marked its last appearance in a mainline Call of Duty title. With the ongoing addition of historic maps in BO7, it seemed inevitable that Summit would resurface, along with the beloved cable cars that players fondly recall jumping into for hours on end.
While Summit will evoke memories of its earlier days, players can expect some visual enhancements and subtle modifications. The interior offices have been upgraded to feature more advanced technology, in line with the futuristic aesthetic of Black Ops 7. However, the iconic cable cars retain their striking red hue, ensuring that the essence of the original remains intact.
Summit is not alone in its comeback; Hacienda, a competitive favorite from Black Ops 4, is also making its way into Season 3 Reloaded. Additionally, players can look forward to new experiences with the introduction of the Onsen multiplayer map and the Ascent Freerun map.
The mid-season update also brings exciting new weaponry, including the Siren special weapon, which delivers a “high damage, slow-moving projectile,” alongside a Katana melee option. For fans of the Zombies mode, the update features the new Totenreich map and a main quest easter egg, adding further depth to the gameplay experience.
Mark your calendars: Black Ops 7: Season 3 Reloaded is set to launch on Tuesday, April 30, 2026, at 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST.
