Comedian Alasdair Beckett-King was a die-hard adventure gamer until he discovered Morrowind: ‘The first time I loaded it up, I walked straight into a little pond and was killed by a fish’

In the realm of PC gaming, few figures stand out quite like Alasdair Beckett-King. His journey began with a second-hand ZX Spectrum, where he first encountered the charmingly challenging world of Dizzy. “We got a second-hand Spectrum with a black and white monitor. I don’t even know if kids know that was a thing,” he reminisces. “So I played Dizzy in black and white. It’s a hard enough game in colour!” This early experience ignited a lifelong passion for gaming, leading him to explore adventure titles such as The Secret of Monkey Island and Full Throttle once he transitioned to PC gaming.
