Exciting Developments in Gaming

A sequel to the beloved 2017 interactive hidden object game, Hidden Folks, is set to make its debut in 2027, bringing with it a wave of nostalgia and fresh content. The announcement was made during the Summer Game Fest’s Wholesome Direct showcase, where the developers unveiled a captivating trailer for Hidden Folks 2.

Staying true to its predecessor, the new installment will retain the charming illustrated black-and-white art style and the whimsical sounds that fans have come to adore. According to the development team, the essence of the game remains intact: “True to the original, the game is all about exploring the little stories scattered throughout each landscape, without time limits or any pressure to score points,” they shared in a recent Steam post.

Hidden Folks 2 promises to enhance the gaming experience with a range of exciting features:

  • Completely new themes and areas to explore
  • Improved graphical quality for a more immersive experience
  • A second, non-text clue for players who may need a little extra help
  • An array of new mouth-made sounds to enrich the auditory landscape
  • Various quality-of-life improvements to streamline gameplay

The developers are targeting an early 2027 release, with plans to launch the game on multiple platforms, including Steam, itch.io, the App Store, and the Google Play Store. There is also the possibility of a Nintendo Switch version, contingent on player demand.
