Reports of the outage flooded in throughout the morning, with DownDetector.com, a platform that tracks service disruptions, indicating significant issues. Users primarily faced challenges with the Facebook app, logging into Facebook Messenger, and accessing the Instagram app.
According to DownDetector.com, the scale of the disruption was considerable, with nearly 130,000 users reporting problems on Facebook, around 20,000 on Messenger, and just over 10,000 on Instagram. Additionally, smaller numbers indicated issues with Meta’s WhatsApp and Threads platforms.
