In the latest version of the Google Play Store, v52.4.41-34, a new feature has been discovered that promises to enhance the user experience for multilingual individuals. This feature introduces a dedicated language selector for the voice search tool, allowing users to choose from over 20 languages. This addition aims to streamline the search process, making it more accessible for a diverse user base.
Currently, when users tap the microphone icon in the Play Store search bar, they are met with an interface that only recognizes English, regardless of their device’s system language settings. While alternative methods exist, such as using keyboard dictation, the native voice search has not kept pace with the needs of its users.
The forthcoming language selection button will enable users to select their preferred language directly within the voice search interface.
