Improvements and Expansion in the ARMSX3 Emulator
The developers behind the mobile port of RPCS3, ARMSX3, have been hard at work enhancing the emulator and broadening its range of compatible games. In just a week, they have rolled out seven updates, bringing the project to version 0.7.2 and introducing a host of new features and compatibility enhancements.
- ARMSX3 now has the ability to recognize games stored in unzipped folders, as well as the capability to install digital editions in PKG format along with RAP licenses.
- Additional features such as trophies, save states, and ANGLE support have been incorporated, providing a smoother gaming experience.
- The developers have also made improvements to firmware installation on low-end devices, fixed pause functionality, and added automatic shader cache deletion.
Furthermore, the emulator now utilizes the Oboe audio system by default and has undergone optimizations to enhance compatibility with mobile graphics accelerators.
Notably, the list of supported games has grown, with titles like Armored Core: For Answer and Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 achieving playable status. Other games, such as Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Sonic Unleashed, and the God of War III demo, have made significant progress in terms of loading and gameplay.
While it may not yet be possible to play these games seamlessly from start to finish, the advancements made in just a week since the initial release of ARMSX3 are commendable.
