Unofficial Android Port of Skate 3 Released by Developer

We’ve seen a surge in unofficial ports of Xbox 360 games to PC recently, and Skate 3 is among the titles that have received this treatment. While the popular skateboarding game has already seen two fan ports for PC, the latest development brings Skate 3 to Android devices.

Developer Buku313 unveiled the unofficial Android port of Skate 3, known as Skate 3 Mobile, on GitHub this week. This port is a fork of the Skate3Recomp project for PC, offering a native Vulkan renderer for improved performance compared to typical fan ports of Xbox 360 titles.

The developer has reported that Skate 3 Mobile is playable on the ANBERNIC RG406V, a mid-tier Android handheld device. Despite some bugs and crashes, the port delivers smooth performance at a near-locked 60fps, making it a promising addition to the Android gaming scene.

While the port is still in its early stages and may not be suitable for all devices, the developer has been proactive in releasing bug-fixing updates to enhance the overall experience. As an open-source project, users have the opportunity to contribute to the development and explore the code behind the port.

For those interested in trying out Skate 3 Mobile, it is recommended to install the port on a secondary Android device to avoid any potential risks. With ongoing updates and improvements, this unofficial port could offer a unique gaming experience for Android users.
