Channel Brief: Kaseya Adds New Leader to C-Suite

1. Kaseya Names New COO, CFO: IT tools platform provider for MSPs, Kaseya, has named Ryan Courson as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Courson has worked in leadership roles for both private equity and publicly held companies. The appointment comes a few weeks after competitor ConnectWise also named an IPO-savvy CFO to its leadership team, and also a few weeks after Kaseya announced its Kaseya 365 package to disrupt the MSP market.

2. Veeam Adds Tech Training, Certifications: Backup data protection and ransomware recovery software provider Veeam Software will roll out new technical training and certification programs through Veeam University, which delivers Veeam technical training to IT professionals on-demand anytime, anywhere. The new online offering is the result of a global partnership with Tsunati, a Veeam Accredited Service Partner, providing on-demand technical certification training for partners and customers world-wide.

3. Pen Testing Heats Up: The global penetration testing market size is estimated to grow by .92 billion from 2024-2028, according to Technavio. The market is estimated to grow at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 13.98% during the forecast period.

4. New Channel Chief: GTT has named Mia Martuscelli senior vice president and channel chief for its indirect channels business in the Americas. The company provides secure cloud networking solutions. In her new role Martuscelli will lead the continued growth and development of channel sales.

5. Fake Antivirus Sites: Security researchers at Trellix are reporting multiple fake antivirus sites that are hosting malware such as APK, EXE and Inno setup installer that includes Spy and Stealer capabilities. The fake websites impersonate antivirus software, such as Malwarebytes, Avast and Bitdefender.
