GOG has recently expanded its Preservation Program by adding 27 classic PC games, furthering its commitment to keeping beloved titles accessible for future generations. This initiative, which was first introduced last November, aims to ensure that classic games remain playable on modern PCs, even after their original developers have ceased support.
New Additions to the Preservation Program
The latest collection of games includes notable titles such as Silent Hill 4: The Room, F.E.A.R. Platinum, and three installments from the Tomb Raider series. As part of GOG’s ongoing Spring Sale, these newly added games, along with many existing ones, are currently available at discounted prices.

Each game in the Preservation Program is marked with a special stamp on the GOG store, allowing players to easily identify these titles. Furthermore, GOG provides a Preservation Log for each game, detailing the updates made to enhance compatibility and performance. For instance, Silent Hill, which debuted on PC over two decades ago, has been updated to improve its compatibility with Windows 10 and 11, now featuring full support for modern controllers. Additionally, previously missing hauntings have been restored, making them accessible on PC for the first time.
Similarly, Tomb Raider Underworld has undergone modifications to enhance its DirectX compatibility, implement a 60 fps cap, and introduce cloud save support. With these recent additions, the total number of titles in GOG’s Preservation Program has reached 141. The company has ambitious plans to expand this collection to 500 games by the end of 2025, with aspirations to eventually include its entire catalog of thousands of PC games.
