The latest addition to this growing roster is 7 Minutes in Hell, which has recently entered early access on Steam.
This game invites up to four players to navigate procedurally-generated death mazes while collecting as much cash as possible. During a recent play session alongside PC Gamer’s Chris Livingston and Andy Chalk, I found that 7 Minutes in Hell has the potential to deliver the kind of chaotic fun that can make friends laugh and scream in equal measure. However, it may need to carve out a more distinct identity to stand out in a crowded field.
Notably, the game shares similarities with Half-Dead 2, a title released in 2019 that draws inspiration from the film Cube 2: Hypercube. While any game can become enjoyable with the right group of players, even those that are somewhat unrefined, 7 Minutes in Hell presents a rather bland aesthetic that could hinder its appeal. In an industry where visual flair often plays a crucial role in attracting players, the game’s lackluster graphics may pose a challenge.

This studio is no stranger to success; they previously released Goose Goose Duck, a game reminiscent of Among Us, which has garnered a “Very Positive” rating from users on Steam.
