Exciting Developments in Crimson Desert
A significant update for Crimson Desert has arrived, addressing a long-standing concern among dedicated players. After navigating through the initial slow progression, players are treated to a breathtaking open-world experience that showcases remarkable freedom and dynamic combat systems, allowing for some truly entertaining gameplay. However, a common issue arose: by the time players gained access to their complete arsenal of skills, many of the major stronghold battles and boss encounters had already been completed. Thankfully, Pearl Abyss has taken note of player feedback and is making strides to enhance the gaming experience.
The latest patch notes for update 1.05 introduce two noteworthy features: the ‘rematch’ and ‘re-blockade’ options. Pearl Abyss has committed to refining these features in future updates. The rematch functionality allows players to re-engage any boss they have previously defeated by returning to the original battle site. Activating the Memory Fragment at that location with a lantern prepares players for a rematch. These fragments are conveniently marked on both the world map and minimap, and players can quickly navigate to them via the bosses tab in the knowledge menu.
The rematch feature currently includes 69 possible bosses, with two distinct approaches available for each encounter. The ‘Reminisce’ mode allows players to face bosses exactly as they were during their first encounter, providing an opportunity to gauge personal growth or seek revenge on a challenging foe. Alternatively, the ‘Resonate’ mode scales the boss’s stats to align with the player’s current level, ensuring a more balanced challenge, provided the player exceeds the original level of the boss. Consumables used during these rematches will be replenished after the battle, although players should note that bonus loot is not currently awarded, a detail that may evolve in future updates.
The re-blockade feature offers players the flexibility to adjust enemy respawn rates in strongholds through the gameplay settings menu. Players can choose from three frequencies: the default ‘Conflict’ setting, an increased frequency with ‘War,’ or the option to disable respawns entirely in ‘Stable’ mode. Presently, this feature impacts 23 forts and quarries across the expansive world of Pywel, with 13 potential factions capable of invading these locations. Pearl Abyss has plans to expand both the number of factions and the variety of strongholds targeted in the near future, along with enhancing the difficulty of enemies encountered during re-blockades.
In addition to these features, players can now discover two legendary animals: the Iron Eagle and the Hyacinth Macaw. To awaken the Iron Eagle, players must travel to Hawkstone Ruins and activate a device at 5 a.m. Furthermore, players can now interact with goose and duck pets, allowing them to carry, lower, and pet these charming creatures. A new discovery awaits in the form of the Mountain God Boar, and players can also purchase a new set of boots at Bari’s shop, available only after obtaining the Ring of Lightning from a specific enemy.
The patch notes also highlight numerous bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. Notable changes include enhanced consistency for the Vault skill, guaranteed minimum crop yields during harvesting at camp, clearer highlight effects when dyeing items, improved visibility for puzzle hints, automatic cancellation of unsustainable Mission Dispatches, and the relocation of the Abyss Nexus at Zargan Tankworks to a more accessible cliff top.
Crimson Desert update 1.05 is now live. The continuous evolution of Pywel is a testament to Pearl Abyss’s commitment to its player base, and with a plethora of additional features slated for release by June, the future looks promising for this captivating game.
