Arc Raiders crafting just got much faster: “Your time matters, we don’t want you spending it clicking through menus”

Enhancing the Crafting Experience in Arc Raiders

Crafting plays a pivotal role in the gameplay of Arc Raiders, where players gather resources to create new weapons, gear, and consumables. However, the process of dismantling old loot and trading for missing components often disrupts the flow of the game. Recognizing this challenge, Embark Studios has taken a proactive approach to streamline the crafting experience, emphasizing the importance of players’ time.

In a recent statement, the studio expressed its commitment to ensuring that every moment spent in Arc Raiders feels meaningful. “We listen closely to what you tell us,” they noted, acknowledging the recurring feedback about the time-consuming nature of crafting. The developers identified that the friction caused by resource gathering was detracting from the overall enjoyment of the game.

Embark Studios highlighted the frustration players faced when trying to locate necessary materials, often requiring navigation through multiple screens. To address this, the studio has introduced an innovative feature: a streamlined method to acquire missing materials directly from the crafting screen. This enhancement aims to minimize interruptions and allow players to return to the action more swiftly.

When players find themselves in the workshop and encounter a shortage of components, they will now notice a new ‘Acquire Resources’ button. By clicking this option, a comprehensive list of available sources for each required material will be displayed. This includes items eligible for recycling from the player’s inventory, as well as options from traders and other locations.

Embark Studios emphasized the importance of the term “available,” clarifying that while this feature does not guarantee immediate access to all materials, it will present potential solutions right at the player’s fingertips. “If a material is obtainable through your current options, you’ll see it, and you can act on it immediately,” the studio explained. This eliminates the need for tedious menu navigation and reduces the likelihood of abandoning crafting endeavors out of frustration.

While the new button is a significant step forward, the developer acknowledges that it does not resolve all issues related to crafting. “Streamlining crafting runs deeper than one button,” they remarked, assuring players that they are continuously exploring other potential pain points highlighted by the community. The studio is committed to prioritizing these concerns in future updates.

As Embark Studios continues to refine the player experience, they encourage ongoing feedback from the community. “You can expect to see more soon,” they concluded, expressing gratitude for the input that shapes their development priorities. Coupled with the recent Flashpoint update, which enhances matchmaking by placing players in fresh lobbies with custom loadouts, it is evident that Embark Studios is dedicated to addressing player concerns and enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
