Battlefield 6 has emerged as a highly anticipated title in the AAA gaming landscape, yet its launch day was marred by technical difficulties that left many players frustrated. Users who opted for the EA App experienced a notable glitch, where the game erroneously indicated that both the multiplayer and single-player campaigns were not installed, despite being present on their systems. This issue was first reported by ComputerBase, and it took EA three hours post-launch to acknowledge the problem, followed by an additional three hours to implement a fix.
The situation drew the ire of players, particularly given the extensive hype surrounding the game. Vince Zampella, the head of Battlefield, expressed his discontent publicly on X, stating, “I have yelled about EA app people. Any suggestions on next levels of escalation?”
Steam Players Face Their Own Challenges
Steam users were not exempt from launch-day woes either. Some encountered a “Game not released” notification upon purchasing the title. In response, Battlefield provided a workaround, advising players to uncheck the Battlefield Multiplayer HD and Battlefield Multiplayer DLCs options in the game’s properties. Others found that clearing their download history cache and restarting Steam resolved the issue.
Fortunately, most of these launch-day issues have been addressed, and players who endured the glitches on the EA App can look forward to some compensation. Affected users will receive 12 Hardware and 12 Career 60-Minute Boosters, along with full access to a seasonal Battle Pass. Those who purchased the Phantom Edition will also be granted Season 2’s complete Battle Pass as part of the resolution.
