The recent surge of interest in the PUBG Global Series has propelled the iconic battle royale game, PUBG: Battlegrounds, to the pinnacle of Steam’s charts, climbing from the twelfth position to a remarkable first place. This resurgence underscores the game’s enduring appeal, particularly in the competitive esports arena.
Steam’s Competitive Landscape
In the wake of PUBG’s ascent, Valve’s own Counter-Strike 2 has maintained its stronghold in second place, demonstrating the game’s consistent popularity among players. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 experienced a notable decline, slipping from the top position to third place.
Apex Legends has made a striking comeback, soaring from the fifty-eighth position to fourth, thanks to the launch of a new season filled with fresh content that has reinvigorated player engagement. Following closely, Amazon and NCSoft’s MMO, Throne and Liberty, has dropped one spot to fifth, while the Steam Deck remains a steady presence in sixth place.
In an impressive turnaround, Baldur’s Gate 3 has re-entered the Top Ten, rising from forty-fifth to seventh place, largely attributed to a significant 20 percent price reduction that has attracted new players. Dota 2 also made a return to the charts, moving up from fifteenth to eighth position.
New entries include Planet Coaster 2 from Frontier Developments, which debuted in ninth place, showcasing the continued interest in simulation games. Rounding out the Top Ten is Farming Simulator 25, which is currently available for pre-order ahead of its anticipated release on November 12th.
