Steam Chart Dynamics: A Shift in Rankings
This week, Counter-Strike 2 has reclaimed its position at the pinnacle of the Steam charts, displacing Monster Hunter Wilds, which now holds the second spot. Capcom’s action RPG has made a significant impact, selling over eight million copies since its launch, yet it appears to have met its match in the competitive landscape of gaming.
In an exciting turn of events, Split Fiction, the latest co-op adventure from Hazelight and Electronic Arts, has made a striking entry at third place following its release on March 6th. Impressively, this title managed to sell one million copies within just 48 hours, setting a new record for developer Hazelight.
Meanwhile, REPO has climbed one position to secure the fourth spot, while Valve’s Steam Deck hardware has slipped two places to fifth. The battle royale sensation PUBG: Battlegrounds also experienced a decline, dropping two spots, but still managed to outpace Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, which surged up four positions to claim seventh place. The renewed interest in Rainbow Six Siege can be attributed to Ubisoft’s upcoming release of a new version, tentatively named Rainbow Six Siege X, set to celebrate the game’s tenth anniversary later this year.
In a remarkable resurgence, Throne and Liberty, a collaboration between NCSoft and Amazon, has skyrocketed 39 spots to re-enter the charts at eighth, buoyed by the launch of its new expansion, Wilds of Talandre. Additionally, the team shooter Fragpunk from Bad Guitar Studio has made its debut in ninth place, while Marvel Rivals has slipped four spots to round out the top ten.
