From August 11 to August 15, children aged 7 to 15 gathered at Affinity Esports for an immersive experience at the Minecraft Builders Camp. This engaging program allowed young participants to explore their creativity within the expansive universe of Minecraft, a game renowned for its limitless possibilities and voxel-based world.
Fostering Creativity and Collaboration
Affinity Esports, dedicated to nurturing happier and healthier gaming experiences, crafted this camp as an ideal platform for kids to connect and express their imaginations. Whether seasoned players or newcomers, all campers were welcomed to partake in daily challenges designed to stretch their creative boundaries.
The first challenge prompted campers to design their dream room individually, while the following day encouraged teamwork as they collaborated to construct a fantasy village. Each session culminated in presentations where campers showcased their creations, fostering a sense of community and shared accomplishment.
With Minecraft holding the title of the best-selling video game in history, it comes as no surprise that the camp attracted nearly two dozen enthusiastic participants. Kaohom Boonyalai, the Marketing and Communications Director at Affinity Esports and the camp’s organizer, noted that the event “pretty much sold out.”
Balanced Gaming Experience
While the focus remained on Minecraft, campers had the opportunity to engage with other games throughout the week. Boonyalai emphasized the importance of balance, encouraging participants to take breaks from screens to enjoy activities like board games or outdoor lunches, promoting both social interaction and well-being.
Boonyalai, an avid Minecraft fan and former coach of Affinity Esports’ Bed Wars team, was familiar with many of the campers, enhancing the supportive atmosphere of the camp. Her coaching experience allowed her to connect with the children, ensuring a fun and collaborative environment.
Throughout the week, regardless of the challenges presented, campers relished the opportunity to build, create, and forge new friendships, embodying the spirit of community that Affinity Esports strives to cultivate.
