CI Games Signs Publishing Deal with Epic Games for Lords of the Fallen 2
CI Games has officially signed a publishing deal with Epic Games for the highly anticipated sequel to Lords of the Fallen. The game, set to be released in 2026, will be handled by Epic Games for the entire product life cycle.
While the specifics of the digital platforms for the game have not been confirmed, it is likely that Lords of the Fallen 2 will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store, at least for the first year. This mirrors the situation with Alan Wake 2, which is also published by Epic Games on PC.
The press release from CI Games states, “The Management Board of CI Games SE with its registered office in Warsaw (the “Company”) hereby announces that on 14 June 2024 the Company signed a binding term sheet with Epic Games Inc (“Epic”) pursuant to which the Company grants Epic the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the sequel of the game Lords of the Fallen on the PC platform for the entire product life cycle.”
It is important to note that the report does not confirm exclusivity to the Epic Games Store, leaving open the possibility of the game eventually coming to other platforms such as Steam. However, fans should not expect a Steam release at launch.
CI Games and Epic Games are aiming for a 2026 release date for Lords of the Fallen 2 and are currently in negotiations for a detailed publishing agreement. More information will be shared in the future.
Additionally, it has been confirmed that Lords of the Fallen 2 will be utilizing Unreal Engine 5, the same engine used for the first game. CI Games will retain all IP ownership, with Epic Games Publishing handling exclusive distribution on PC.
Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting collaboration between CI Games and Epic Games!
