Inspired by the First-Ever Big Screen Adaptation of the Bestselling Video Game of All Time, A Minecraft Movie Hologram Experience Launches Nationwide

Warner Bros. Pictures and Hologram Media Network have embarked on an innovative collaboration to enhance the excitement surrounding the upcoming release of A Minecraft Movie. This partnership introduces a unique holographic experience, set to be showcased in Proto Hologram units located in premier shopping destinations, including four Macerich malls and thirty Simon® malls across the United States. The immersive content, crafted by the Los Angeles-based creative studio Pretty Big Monster, promises to captivate audiences daily.

Augmented Reality Meets Holography

In a further extension of this collaboration, Snapchat has joined forces with Warner Bros. and Hologram Media Network to unveil a collection of four augmented reality (AR) Lens experiences under the title Blockify Your World. Among these, a groundbreaking 3D Body Tracking lens will make its debut during a special one-day event at Roosevelt Field Mall in New York. This lens allows fans to transform into holograms of iconic Minecraft creatures, such as Zombies and Skeletons, directly through the Snapchat app.

Cameron Curtis, Executive Vice President of Global Digital Marketing at Warner Bros. Pictures, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are thrilled to bring A Minecraft Movie to life in a whole new way through cutting-edge holographic and AR technology. By partnering with Hologram Media Network, Pretty Big Monster, and Snapchat, we’re giving fans an immersive, interactive experience that allows them to step inside the world of A Minecraft Movie like never before.”

James Andrew Felts, Founder and CEO of Hologram Media Network, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the potential of holographic technology to forge deeper connections between storytellers and audiences. “Holographic technology gives the best storytellers in the world a brand-new canvas to reach audiences, promote new content and create deep fan relationships,” he noted.

Adam Katzenback, Head of Entertainment Creative Strategy at Snap Inc., added, “Combining hologram technology with Snapchat augmented reality unlocks an exciting new world of storytelling capabilities. Together, Snap, HMN, and Warner Brothers are inviting fans to literally step into the world of Minecraft in a way that’s creative and playful, just like Snapchat.”

As the anticipation for A Minecraft Movie builds, this innovative approach to fan engagement is set to redefine how audiences interact with their favorite stories and characters.
