The July Xbox update has arrived, bringing with it a host of enhancements tailored specifically for PC gamers, alongside several additional perks designed to enrich the overall gaming experience. Dean Shimabukuro, Xbox’s senior product marketing manager, emphasizes that these updates are part of a larger initiative aimed at refining the Xbox experience on PC. He notes, “Whether you’re streaming your own games, jumping back into the cloud, or earning rewards just for playing, it’s all about giving you more control, more flexibility, and more reasons to play your way.”

Here’s a closer look at the standout features included in this update:
- Stream your own games on PC: This feature, which has been successfully tested in the Xbox Insider Program, allows users to stream any of the 250+ compatible games they own directly through the Xbox app on Windows. No additional downloads or purchases are necessary. This capability is already accessible on Xbox consoles, Meta Quest, and various other supported devices. Excitingly, many more games are set to join the lineup soon, including Five Nights at Freddy’s, RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business, and Rugby League 26.
- Cross-device history: Also previously trialed in the Xbox Insider Program, this feature enables players to seamlessly continue their gaming sessions across different devices, including PC. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will benefit from access to all cloud-playable titles in their Xbox game library, encompassing even console-exclusive games, directly through the Xbox app on Windows.
- Rewards with Xbox: Gamers can now track their Xbox rewards conveniently through the Xbox app on Windows, ensuring they stay updated on their progress and benefits.
