Today marks the arrival of Pre-Release 2, a significant update that brings a host of bug fixes and enhancements aimed at improving the overall gaming experience. As players dive back into their virtual worlds, they can look forward to a smoother and more enjoyable mining adventure.
Technical Changes
- The Data Pack version has been updated to 107.0, ensuring compatibility with the latest features and fixes.
Fixed bugs in 26.2 Pre-Release 2
- MC-305475: Resolved an issue where tripwires above players would trigger twice during jumps.
- MC-307662: The graphics backend version line in the debug overlay now properly supports new line characters.
- MC-307759: Fixed a desynchronization issue caused by rapidly giving and removing sulfur cubes while the tick rate is low.
- MC-308033: The shield blocking animation has been adjusted to a more appropriate speed.
- MC-308135: Large core shader files now load correctly when utilizing the Vulkan rendering backend.
- MC-308207: Players can now swap sulfur cubes’ absorbed blocks while simultaneously igniting their absorbed TNT.
- MC-308281: Addressed an OpenGL MultiDraw crash that occurred due to a missing element buffer bind.
- MC-308363: Fixed a rare issue where igloo generation could freeze the server.
- MC-308439: The foot part of beds will no longer display as a missing model when the “Programmer Art” resource pack is enabled.
- MC-308442: Switching a beacon’s primary effect while having a level II effect selected as the secondary no longer kicks the player.
- MC-308452: Resolved a crash on startup for Mac users.
- MC-308457: Fixed a crash on systems lacking Vulkan support.
- MC-308465: The game will no longer crash when attempting to create a new world if the saves folder is absent.
Get the Pre-Release
For those eager to experience these updates, Pre-Releases are available for Minecraft: Java Edition. To install, simply open the Minecraft Launcher and enable snapshots in the “Installations” tab.
