Minecraft 26.2 Pre-Release 2

Pre-Release 2 has been released, featuring an updated Data Pack version of 107.0. Bug fixes include resolving issues with tripwires triggering twice, graphics backend support for new line characters, desynchronization with sulfur cubes, adjustments to shield blocking animation speed, correct loading of large core shader files with Vulkan, enabling players to swap sulfur cubes while igniting TNT, fixing an OpenGL MultiDraw crash, addressing igloo generation freezing servers, correcting bed model display issues with the "Programmer Art" resource pack, preventing player kicks when switching beacon effects, resolving startup crashes for Mac users and systems lacking Vulkan support, and preventing crashes when creating new worlds if the saves folder is absent. Pre-Releases are available for Minecraft: Java Edition, and players are advised to back up their data when testing.

Minecraft 26.2 Pre-Release 1

Today marks the unveiling of the first pre-release for version 26.2. Bug fixes are included to refine the overall experience. The Peer-to-Peer connection feature has been removed due to quality concerns. Known issues include potential crashes on systems lacking Vulkan support, which can be worked around by editing the options.txt file. Changes include updated models and textures for Small Sulfur Cubes, new sounds for Sulfur Cubes, and updates to the Sulfur Caves biome. The continuous Geyser setup now requires a source Lava Block. The friend list button will remain visible even if disabled. Technical changes include updates to the Data Pack version (106.1) and Resource Pack version (88.0). New server properties for chat and command spam thresholds have been added. A new world preset, minecraft:flatalldimensions, has been introduced. Entity textures for Sulfur Cubes have been added, and various bugs have been fixed in this pre-release. Pre-releases are available for Minecraft: Java Edition, and players are advised to back up their data.

- The upcoming release is titled "Chaos Cubed." - Players can explore the Overworld and sulfur caves, seeking sulfur springs and new resources. - A new mob called the Sulfur Cube has been introduced, which absorbs blocks and can be interacted with using Shears. - The Sulfur Cube can detect nearby block items and will follow players holding absorbable blocks. - Upon defeat, the Sulfur Cube splits into two smaller versions, which can be fed to grow larger. - New Cinnabar and Sulfur block sets have been added, including various variants like Polished and Bricks. - The sulfur caves biome has been added, featuring sulfur pools and the Sulfur Cube mob. - Potent Sulfur is a new block that produces nausea-inducing gas when placed under water. - Sulfur Springs generate naturally above the sulfur cave biome in various sizes. - Vulkan support has been added for improved visual experience, with a new "Graphics API" option in Video Settings. - Players can toggle between OpenGL and Vulkan, with Vulkan being the default if supported. - New attributes related to bounciness and friction have been introduced for entities. - New sounds and textures for Sulfur, Potent Sulfur, Cinnabar, and the Sulfur Cube have been added. - Various bugs have been fixed to improve gameplay stability.
