Reflecting on the original film, Momoa admitted he was “perplexed” by the script for A Minecraft Movie, released in 2025, which achieved remarkable success with over 0 million in global box office earnings. The announcement of a sequel was made in October 2025, with Warner Bros. setting a release date for July 23, 2027.
