One of Asia’s most popular games is coming to Xbox Game Pass PC

Microsoft has unveiled an exciting addition to its Xbox Game Pass for PC, announcing that two beloved titles from the Activision-Blizzard portfolio will soon be available to subscribers. At the Tokyo Game Show 2024, Xbox gaming CEO Phil Spencer revealed that the iconic StarCraft series will be joining the Game Pass lineup.

StarCraft Joins the Ranks

Starting November 5, players can look forward to diving into StarCraft Remastered and StarCraft II as part of their Game Pass PC and Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. Spencer emphasized the significance of the StarCraft franchise, stating, “The Starcraft series helped define real-time strategy and esports and live streaming. We’re thrilled that even more players will get to experience the campaign and multiplayer modes from these two iconic games.”

StarCraft has maintained its status as a cultural phenomenon, particularly in South Korea, where it has captivated gamers for years. With its arrival on Game Pass, Microsoft anticipates a surge in subscription sign-ups, as the allure of accessing these classics becomes increasingly appealing.

The financial advantages of Game Pass are evident. While Starcraft Remastered is priced at .99 and StarCraft II at .99 on Battle.net, gamers can opt for a Game Pass PC subscription at just per month. This means players can enjoy both titles without the need for individual purchases.

This strategic move aligns with Microsoft’s broader initiative to enhance the value of Xbox Game Pass on PC, which remains competitively priced at .99 per month. The initial results of this strategy appear promising; for instance, Diablo IV, the first Blizzard title to join Game Pass, has generated over billion in net earnings since its launch. While the exact contribution from Game Pass remains unclear, it’s reasonable to speculate that the 0 million in in-game purchases was positively influenced by the game’s availability on the subscription service.
