Rockstar might be staying quiet on a GTA 6 PC release, but here’s when the maker of some hardcore gamer mood lighting reckons we can expect it
In the ever-evolving landscape of gaming, anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is palpable, particularly among PC enthusiasts. While Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that the game will debut this year, the exact timing and platform availability remain subjects of speculation.
Insights from Corsair
Recently, Corsair Gaming’s financial vice president, Ronald van Veen, provided some intriguing insights during the company’s latest financial results presentation. He remarked, “GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that, I think, later on in the year for console.” His comments suggest that console players can expect to see the game in the fall, while PC gamers might have to wait a bit longer.
Van Veen indicated that the anticipated PC version could arrive in early 2026. While this timeline is not set in stone, it offers a helpful reference point for those eager to dive into the latest installment of the iconic franchise. Given the historical context of Rockstar’s release patterns, this prediction aligns with past trends where PC versions followed console launches.
Take-Two has previously acknowledged that not all titles are released across platforms simultaneously. In discussing their strategy, they noted that while some games, like Civilization 7, launched on both console and PC at the same time, others in their lineup have staggered releases. This approach has been consistent with Rockstar’s history, as seen with GTA 5, which took a couple of years to transition to PC after its initial console release.
As the gaming community eagerly awaits further announcements, the prospect of a new console generation before the PC launch of GTA 6 seems unlikely. For now, patience remains a virtue for PC gamers, who can look forward to what promises to be another groundbreaking addition to the Grand Theft Auto series.
