In a significant move for the gaming industry, Side, a prominent player in services and co-development, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Saudi Arabia’s Savvy Games Group. This agreement outlines their commitment to collaborate in fostering the growth of the Saudi Arabian gaming sector.
Strategic Expansion into Saudi Arabia
As part of this partnership, Side plans to establish an office in Riyadh by the fourth quarter of 2025. Deborah Kirkham, CEO of Side, expressed her enthusiasm for the venture, stating, “The way we see it, Saudi Arabia is quite possibly the most important market for the global gaming industry right now, especially when it comes to the development scene.”
Kirkham highlighted the unique advantages that Saudi Arabia presents for UK companies, noting the presence of eager partners like Savvy, a growing audience seeking localized and tailored content, and a government committed to investing in the future of the industry. “That combination allows us to bottle lightning in the Saudi marketplace and deliver the kind of excellence Side is globally known for,” she added.
Dr. Nika Nour, Senior Vice President and head of internal business development at Savvy Games Group, echoed this sentiment, stating, “We are delighted to partner with Side and look forward to supporting the team to enter Saudi Arabia’s vibrant gaming industry and establish their presence here in Riyadh.”
