Sony is bringing MLB The Show to iOS and Android

Sony Launches MLB The Show Mobile for iOS and Android

Sony has announced the release of MLB The Show Mobile, a free-to-play baseball game for iOS and Android. Developed by San Diego Studio, the game offers a standalone experience with realistic gameplay specifically designed for mobile devices.

Currently available only in the Philippines, MLB The Show Mobile does not support crossplay with console games. Sony has not provided a timeline for expanding availability to other regions, but plans to do so in the future. This soft launch strategy is also being used for a Ratchet and Clank multiplayer game.

The game is optimized for newer mobile devices, such as the iPhone 16 or comparable devices for iOS, and Samsung Galaxy S25, Sony Xperia V, or similar devices for Android.

MLB The Show Mobile features solo and player-vs-player modes, with over 1,100 player cards representing baseball players past and present. Players can build their own roster, upgrade cards, and participate in a marketplace to buy and sell cards with other players. In-game purchases may include random items.

Each player card has a momentum cost, which can be strategically used to improve gameplay. The skill-based gameplay requires precise timing for pitching, hitting, and controlling runners in real-time, offering a challenging and immersive experience for baseball fans on mobile devices.
