Excitement Builds for Soulframe’s Founders Program
In a year marked by disappointment in the gaming realm, Soulframe emerges as a beacon of hope. While titles like South of Midnight and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 failed to meet expectations, the anticipation surrounding Soulframe is palpable, especially with its recent milestone achievement. As a regular attendee of TennoCon, I have witnessed the evolution of Soulframe from a rudimentary open world to a sophisticated action MMORPG, capturing the essence of magic and mystery.
The game has undergone significant transformations, shifting towards a soulslite experience that resonates with players. As the development team continues to enhance the gameplay, the launch of the Founders program marks a pivotal moment. This initiative, reminiscent of Warframe’s successful launch strategy in 2012, is described by creative director Geoff Crookes as a “big step” towards the game’s eventual release.
The Founders program offers players a choice between four distinct options across two tiers. Each Wyld pack provides access to a specific Pact or class tree, catering to various playstyles. Combat enthusiasts can align with Tethren, while those who prefer agility and stealth may gravitate towards Sirin. Magic users will find their home with Oscelda. Each pack includes unique weapons, a talisman, a customized spirit guide, Moonsteel Threads for transmogging, Figments for dyeing armor, and Arcs, the premium currency of the game.
For those seeking an elevated experience, the Paragon tier includes all the features of the Wyld packs, along with a unique greatsword and talisman. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to plant their own flower in the stunning Eternium Gardens, a feature showcased in a recent press livestream that left many in awe of its ethereal beauty.
The pricing structure for Soulframe’s offerings is as follows: the Wyld Tethren, Sirin, and Oscelda packs are available for .99 / £24.99 each, while the Wyld Paragon pack is priced at .99 / £84.99. Although the Paragon tier targets high spenders, the inclusion of game access and shareable Preludes codes makes it a compelling option for many. As with Warframe, the limited edition cosmetic rewards associated with these packs may entice players to act swiftly.
In conjunction with the Founders program, Preludes 12 has also launched, introducing exciting new features. The highlight is the addition of a greatsword, providing fighter-oriented Envoys with a formidable weapon. Enhancements to sub-bosses, now known as Agari, and the introduction of fast travel are welcome improvements. Furthermore, the cast has expanded to include Jennifer English from Baldur’s Gate 3 and Expedition 33, adding depth to the game’s narrative.
As Soulframe continues to develop, the community is left to ponder what lies ahead. Whether it be a beta or a full launch, the momentum is undeniable. For now, players can find me immersed in the Nightfold, which is gradually becoming my second home in this enchanting world.
