Space Marine 2 will celebrate its first anniversary with a ‘large-scale update’ in September, and another year of free and paid content is on the way

In an exciting development for fans of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Saber Interactive has confirmed that work on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 has officially commenced. However, the studio remains committed to enhancing the experience of Space Marine 2, announcing a wealth of new content set to roll out over the next year.

Continued Support for Space Marine 2

In a recent update shared on Steam, Saber Interactive, alongside publisher Focus Entertainment, revealed plans for a second year of both free and paid content. This initiative will be encapsulated in a new yearly season pass, promising players an array of fresh experiences. The studio expressed gratitude for the community’s steadfast support, stating, “Expect new PvE missions, enemies, weapons, and… more.” This commitment to ongoing development underscores the studio’s dedication to keeping the game vibrant and engaging.

Among the anticipated features is a substantial update scheduled for September, which aims to enhance gameplay and introduce new elements that will further immerse players in the Warhammer 40,000 lore.

Delay of PvP Mode

While the news is largely positive, there is a slight setback regarding the introduction of a new PvP mode. Initially slated for the upcoming 9.0 update, this mode has been postponed to the 10.0 update. Saber Interactive has provided a glimpse into what players can expect from this mode, which will unfold on a new map and feature a unique confrontation between Chaos factions. Players will also have the opportunity to control the Helbrute, a formidable boss from Space Marine 2, adding an exciting layer to the gameplay.

Additionally, the focus on Chaos will bring new Chaos armors into the mix, further enriching the game’s customization options. Players can look forward to more detailed announcements regarding the 10.0 update and the new PvP mode in community updates scheduled for July and August.
