Lauren Morton, an enthusiastic player and self-proclaimed “Archive Spelunker,” expresses her deep affection for The Sims 3, a game that has rekindled her passion for simulation gaming. The unique wishes system and the game’s unpredictable nature have captivated her, making Live Mode a standout feature that she cherishes. With its open-world design and the innovative Create-A-Style tools, which are notably absent in The Sims 4, Morton finds herself drawn back into the world of building and creativity.
Reflecting on her experiences, Morton shares a particularly memorable moment from her gameplay. Her virtual wedding took an unexpected turn when a guest unexpectedly passed away during the celebration. Although they were not close, the appearance of the ghost left a lasting impression, leading her character on a bizarre adventure through the catacombs beneath the graveyard. This journey, filled with encounters with zombie bears, left her character in a rather undignified state, emerging from the depths in nothing but underpants.
Morton also humorously recounts her misunderstanding of a ‘Wedding Party.’ Instead of serving as a celebration of engagement, it turned out to be the actual wedding event. The result was an unhappy gathering, as guests departed without witnessing the nuptials, leaving both Morton’s character and her virtual fiancée feeling guilty for the missed occasion.

As Morton reflects on her adventures within The Sims 3, she ponders how the game holds up against its predecessors, particularly The Sims 2. With the entire series now easily accessible on PC, she invites fellow players to consider their own scores for this beloved installment, which continues to inspire creativity and unexpected moments in the lives of its players.
