TommyInnit Presenting ‘100 Questions’ YouTube Series With Stephen Fry

TommyInnit, the driving force behind the most popular Minecraft channel on Twitch, is set to launch an innovative new series as part of Sony’s international digital initiative. The show, 100 Questions with Tom Simons, will feature TommyInnit, whose real name is Tom Simons, engaging in candid conversations with a variety of guests. The unique format challenges him to ask exactly 100 questions, and once he exhausts that list, the interview concludes.

Star-Studded Lineup

Debuting next week, the inaugural episodes will showcase an impressive roster of guests, including the esteemed British actor Stephen Fry, who recently appeared on Celebrity Traitors. Other notable participants include renowned physicist Professor Brian Cox and popular content creators such as Stampy, James Marriott, and Sweet Anita.

Sony has described 100 Questions as “designed as a repeatable, creator-led series built for digital audiences.” In addition to airing on its dedicated YouTube channel, full episodes will also be available on TommyInnit’s personal platforms, with clips potentially shared across various channels.

A New Venture for Sony

This initiative is part of Sony Pictures Television International Production’s emerging digital arm, spearheaded by former BBC Studios executive Matt Ford and ex-Channel 4 digital chief Sacha Khari. Their vision is to cultivate a focused slate of original concepts that resonate with today’s digital audience.

TommyInnit has rapidly ascended to become one of the world’s leading streamers, boasting over 50 million followers across various platforms and achieving more than 1 billion views on YouTube by the age of 17. He holds the Guinness World Record for the most-followed Minecraft channel on Twitch and has successfully sold out live events.

Reflecting on his journey, TommyInnit shared, “I started out making videos in my room, and over the past few years I’ve been lucky enough to build a career outside of that, writing books, touring, and now my own chat show! This feels like a chance to push myself even further out of my comfort zone, having conversations you wouldn’t expect. From asking Stephen Fry about his least favorite word to chatting with Brian Cox about the meaning of life, it’s been an unreal experience so far.”

Matt Ford commented on the significance of this launch, stating, “Launching our first digital studio channel with Tom is a big moment for us. He’s one of the most distinctive creators in the market, with a deep understanding of how to connect with large, engaged audiences. This is just the beginning—we’re building a focused slate of original concepts with a select group of creators and leading talent, and see a significant opportunity to develop ideas like this at scale.”

TommyInnit is represented by MonRae Management. Earlier this year, Deadline examined the growing influence of content creators in shaping the British television landscape, both in front of and behind the camera.
