An 81-year-old grandmother from Arizona, Sue Jacquot, has embarked on an inspiring journey into the world of streaming, using her newfound passion for Minecraft to raise funds for her grandson’s rare cancer treatment. Jacquot, affectionately known as GrammaCrackers, launched her YouTube channel late last year after being introduced to the game by her grandsons, Austin and Jack, during the summer.
In her inaugural video, she candidly shared her initial apprehensions about the game, stating, “The first couple of months I was kinda intimidated [by Minecraft] but I’ve been playing more the past couple of months and I really enjoyed it and I invite you to come along with me in this new adventure.” Since then, her channel has blossomed, amassing an impressive 360,000 subscribers and releasing 12 videos over the past two months.
Community Support and Fundraising Efforts
All ad revenue generated from GrammaCrackers’ videos is directed towards covering the treatment costs for her grandson Jack, who is battling a rare form of Sarcoma Cancer that affects muscle and tissue. In addition to her streaming efforts, a GoFundMe campaign initiated by Jack’s brother, Austin, has been prominently featured in the description of each video, successfully raising over ,000 in donations.
In a remarkable display of community spirit, fans of GrammaCrackers have even created a memecoin to further support Jack’s treatment. Reflecting on this unexpected turn of events, she remarked on X, “I don’t understand crypto but I do understand kindness.”

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Austin shared, “Words cannot express the gratitude we have for all of the support we have received. Your kind words, prayers, and donations are all appreciated beyond measure. Your generosity has been helping relieve the pressure of extensive medical bills and keeping us afloat during uncertain times.” GrammaCrackers echoed this sentiment in a video update, stating, “I just want to thank you for all that you are doing. Your help is just unbelievable. I can’t fathom what you’re doing, it’s just beyond comprehension.”
Earlier this week, GrammaCrackers had the joy of streaming alongside Jack, offering viewers a tour of her Minecraft creations, further solidifying the bond between gaming and family support in their time of need.
