An Enthusiast Makes Dreams Come True for Blizzard Fans
An enthusiast known as jaredgei has recently unveiled a project that has excited fans of Blizzard’s MMORPG. WoW Forever for Android is an unofficial launcher that allows users to play the beta version of World of Warcraft: Forever on their smartphones and portable consoles running Android. This innovative project utilizes the original Blizzard client, enabling the game to run directly on the device.
The developer showcased the game running smoothly on an AYN Thor portable console with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. In less crowded areas, both devices achieved an impressive 60 FPS, although in bustling cities, the frame rate dropped to around 40 FPS.
The launcher offers support for touch controls, gamepads, and the convenience of downloading updates directly on the device. To enjoy this gaming experience, users will need Android 10 or newer, a Snapdragon 8-series processor with Adreno 7xx or 8xx graphics, and a Battle.net account with access to the beta testing, which is set to conclude on October 21.
