Xbox App For PC Adds Aggregated Gaming Library in Preview

Microsoft is embarking on an innovative journey by testing the integration of games sourced from various digital storefronts, including Steam, into its Xbox app for PC. This exciting development introduces a new aggregated library that will also be accessible on the forthcoming ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X from Asus. For those who are part of the Xbox Insiders program enrolled in the PC Gaming preview, this feature is available starting today.

The newly introduced gaming library within the Xbox app for PC will seamlessly incorporate titles from renowned platforms such as Battle.net, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG, among others. Users can expect to find all their installed games conveniently displayed in one unified library, a functionality reminiscent of what the GOG Galaxy client offers.

The Xbox team emphasized the convenience of this new feature, stating, “Whether you’re on a Windows PC or a handheld device, your Xbox library, hundreds of Game Pass titles, and your installed games from leading PC storefronts will always be at your fingertips. We’ll continue rolling out support for additional PC storefronts over time.”

To participate in testing this aggregated gaming library, users will need to join the PG Gaming Preview via the Xbox Insider Hub app, which operates independently from other preview programs related to the Xbox OS and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

In addition to this, the Xbox app for PC is set to unveil a new section this month, showcasing games from Microsoft’s own studios alongside third-party publishers such as EA and Ubisoft on Game Pass. This enhancement aims to facilitate better game discovery while users navigate the app’s homepage.
