In a remarkable fusion of music and gaming, M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, the artistic director and percussionist for Slipknot, has unveiled “Vernearth,” a groundbreaking multi-mode realm for the iconic computer game “Minecraft.” This innovative project, as reported by theprp, introduces a seasonal gameplay experience that draws inspiration from various elements of the Slipknot universe.
Game Modes and Features
Each 45-day season will immerse players in distinct themes, starting with the first season named after the band’s 2001 track, The Heretic Anthem. The second season will feature The Dying Song (Time To Sing) from their latest album, “The End, So Far.”
“Vernearth” is built on custom technology and handcrafted environments, emphasizing a play philosophy that rewards mastery across diverse gameplay styles, including survival, PVP, creativity, and hardcore challenges. The realm launches with four major game modes:
- OBLIVION — The Core World: A vast survival world where players navigate treacherous landscapes, engage with custom factions, and delve into the lore of three major capital cities: Raziel, Seniomsed, and The City of Eternal.
- PVP / EVENT SERVER — The Arena: This mode is tailored for fast-paced competition, featuring weekly tournaments and creator-friendly events across four unique arenas: The Circle Sphere, The Blood Square, The Blood Oval, and UnEden. Players can earn “War” currency to unlock exclusive cosmetics and items.
- PLOTWORLD — The Sanctuary: A collaborative creative space where players can freely build, merge plots, and host social activities. With access to creative mode and a permanent Hall of Fame, Plotworld encourages artistic contributions to the Vernearth universe.
- CHALLENGE MODE — Vernearth’s Signature Experience: This seasonal, limited-time mode presents a hardcore environment where players have only one life. Each season introduces a new Slipknot-inspired theme, complete with custom world generation and high-stakes objectives.
The seasonal progression of Vernearth will transition from the chaotic, blood-red landscape of Season 1: The Heretic Anthem, to the twilight decay of Season 2: The Dying Song, culminating in the unpredictable chaos of Season 3: Friend or Foe?, where players must adapt to ever-changing environments.
