Opportunities for Iranian Messenger Applications in Regional Markets
In Tehran, Iranian messenger applications are poised to expand their reach into markets that share cultural, linguistic, and religious ties with Iran. This strategic positioning offers these platforms a unique advantage in gaining acceptance within target communities.
Amin Sharifi, the managing director of Soroush Plus, an Iranian messaging app, articulated the vision for these platforms, stating, “The globalization of native messengers, particularly in countries that share common interests with Iran, is a goal that could significantly enhance the success of our applications.” He acknowledged skepticism regarding feasibility but emphasized the potential for collaboration among policymakers, entrepreneurs, and skilled professionals within the Iranian tech landscape.
Sharifi elaborated on the geographical scope of this initiative, noting that Iranian messenger apps could find a foothold in neighboring regions, including North Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India. He also highlighted the interest from Iranians living abroad, particularly in the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe, who are eager to connect with their families back home through these platforms.
In recent developments, Iranian companies have made strides in creating innovative applications. A notable example is a knowledge-based company that has successfully developed an AI assistant application inspired by ChatGPT. This tool is designed to enhance work processes, boost productivity, and provide users with quick access to accurate information.
Fardin Aqadadashi Dinabad, the managing director of this pioneering company, shared insights into their offerings. “Our company specializes in new technologies and artificial intelligence. The main product is the ChatGPT-based AI Assistant Application, which features dedicated prompts that empower users to leverage advanced AI capabilities,” he explained. This application addresses various needs, including process automation, intelligent support, data analysis, and the provision of AI-driven solutions across economic, educational, and service sectors.
