X’s Standalone Messaging App XChat Disappears From App Store

The XChat application, designed to facilitate secure communication among users with features such as end-to-end encryption and disappearing messages, has recently encountered accessibility issues. Launched in April 2026, XChat was marketed as a “private, focused space built for conversation.” However, users are currently unable to locate the app through searches in the ‌App Store‌, and attempts to access it via web links result in an “unavailable” error message.

Update: It has come to light that X has removed the XChat app from the ‌App Store‌, though the reasons for this decision remain undisclosed.
