Gemini Live’s real-time screen sharing is now available to all Android users

What you need to know

Google has officially rolled out its innovative Gemini Live feature, enabling real-time video and screen sharing with its AI assistant, to all Android users. This expansion follows a successful initial launch that targeted Pixel 9, Galaxy S25, and Gemini Advanced subscribers last month.

To activate this feature, users simply need to tap “Share screen with Live” within the “Ask Gemini” window. This functionality allows users to share their device’s camera or navigate through any app while engaging with Gemini Live, which provides responses tailored to what users are viewing on their screens.

The introduction of Gemini Live was first unveiled at MWC Barcelona earlier this year, with the rollout commencing at the end of March. Initially, it was available exclusively to Pixel 9 and Galaxy S25 devices, followed by Gemini Advanced users. Now, however, all Android users can access this feature without the need for an advanced subscription, as confirmed by reports from 9to5Google.

Gemini Live not only facilitates brainstorming and troubleshooting but also enhances user experiences by allowing for personal shopping advice and skill development. Users can effortlessly manage their screen sharing through notifications, similar to live screen recording alerts, and can stop sharing whenever they choose.

In a move that reflects a commitment to accessibility, Google is making these advanced features available to all Android phone users without imposing a paywall. For those concerned about the privacy of their audio, video, and screen shares, Google has introduced an auto-delete functionality that can be configured through the Gemini Apps Activity in Google account settings.
