Gemini App Updates Enhance User Experience with Personal Intelligence and Memory Features
In a series of updates following the launch of Lyria 3 Pro and Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, Google has introduced several enhancements to its Gemini app, notably expanding the availability of the Personal Intelligence feature across the United States.
The latest redesign of the Gemini interface introduces a captivating visual element: a glowing effect that now extends around the entire screen when users activate the app. This glow, predominantly blue with vibrant accents of red, yellow, and green at the bottom, creates a striking visual experience. After a brief moment, the colors gracefully fade to blue before disappearing, echoing the app’s automation features and enhancing its overall aesthetic appeal.
With the rollout of Personal Intelligence, users can now enjoy a more tailored experience without the need for constant prompts. This feature seamlessly integrates data from various Google services, including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Google Photos, YouTube, and Maps, allowing Gemini to generate personalized responses based on the user’s context and preferences.
For those who wish to manage their privacy settings, disabling Personal Intelligence is straightforward. Users can navigate to the Tools menu and uncheck the new toggle option at the bottom. Initially, this feature was exclusive to subscribers of the paid Google AI Plan, but it has now been made available to all free Google Account users, marking a significant shift in accessibility.
Upon activation, users are prompted to opt-in and can selectively choose which applications Gemini can access. This customization can be managed from the “Personal Intelligence” page within the account menu, ensuring that users maintain control over their data.
In addition to Personal Intelligence, Google has also rolled out a feature known as “Memory,” previously referred to as “Past Gemini chats.” This functionality allows the app to reference previous conversations, further enhancing its ability to provide personalized responses without requiring explicit reminders from users.
