Google has recently introduced a refined design for its Gemini web interface, showcasing a modern aesthetic that includes a sleek dark theme and an enhanced “My Stuff” folder. This update, rolled out on December 3, aims to elevate user experience and accessibility, aligning with the launch of Gemini’s latest AI models.
What you need to know
- Gemini’s new web design features a cleaner look and an updated dark theme.
- The ‘My Stuff’ folder simplifies access to your previous content on Gemini.
- UI improvements coincide with the launch of Gemini’s latest AI models.
The revamped homepage of the Gemini web version now presents a soothing bluish-gray background in light mode and a striking fully-black backdrop in dark mode. Users are greeted with a friendly “Hi,” a subtle shift from the previous “Hello,” accompanied by a prompt bar and tailored suggestions just below. A delightful spinning animation of the Gemini sparkle logo adds a touch of whimsy during the initial page load, while the prompt box features more defined outlines for clarity.
The left-hand menu has also been updated, introducing the “My Stuff” section alongside existing categories like “Gems” and “Chats.” This new feature allows users to store images, videos, and Canvas creations separately from their chat interactions, facilitating easier access to previously generated content. By clicking on items within “My Stuff,” users can revisit different conversations related to the images they have created.
Additionally, the chat interface has received enhancements, including a new dropdown menu when selecting a chat name. This menu provides options to “Share conversation, Pin, Rename, and Delete,” further streamlining user interactions.
This UI overhaul coincides with the recent rollout of Gemini’s advanced models, namely Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro, which were introduced during Google’s November update. The new models promise a refreshed AI experience, enhancing Google Search with multimodal responses that offer users smarter and more concise interactions.
