The iQOO 16 is poised to make waves in the smartphone market as it prepares for its debut, boasting the distinction of being the first device to feature a 2K resolution OLED display with an impressive 165Hz refresh rate. This innovative panel has been co-developed with Samsung Display, utilizing a dedicated production line to ensure top-tier quality.
At the heart of this display is Samsung’s cutting-edge M16 luminescent material, marking its first appearance in the Android ecosystem, alongside the advanced LEAD 2.0 architecture. With a global peak brightness of 2,800 nits and a local peak brightness reaching 10,000 nits, the screen promises vibrant visuals and unparalleled clarity. The display also offers a pixel density of 508 PPI, complemented by sub-pixel-level calibration that guarantees exceptional color accuracy.
In addition to its stunning visual capabilities, the iQOO 16 is designed with gamers in mind. The device features a remarkable 500Hz multi-touch sampling rate and an instantaneous sampling rate of 5,000Hz, ensuring a responsive gaming experience. iQOO’s Q-Flex technology further enhances performance by minimizing input lag, while the inclusion of 3,300Hz PWM dimming and various eye-comfort features underscores the brand’s commitment to user experience.
Notably, the new display is engineered to be energy-efficient, consuming approximately 31 percent less power at 150 nits compared to a similarly sized 1.5K panel. This efficiency is particularly advantageous as higher resolutions and refresh rates typically demand more from the battery.
Anticipation is building for the iQOO 16, which is expected to launch in China towards the end of September. If the rest of its hardware matches the excellence of its display, it could emerge as a formidable contender among the top gaming flagships currently available.
