The latest update from OnePlus, OxygenOS 16, introduces a significant enhancement to its Mind Space app by integrating Google’s Gemini. This collaboration aims to deliver a more personalized user experience, allowing individuals to access a wealth of information tailored to their preferences and activities. The Mind Space app acts as a digital repository, capturing insights and data that can be easily retrieved when users seek assistance from Gemini, now part of the app’s Extensions.
A Mind Space Extension
Upon launching the Mind Space app, users will embark on an onboarding journey that familiarizes them with the capabilities of the AI Brain. This process includes a consent screen for utilizing Gemini’s assistance, notifications, and an option to sign up for the beta version of the Mind Space Extension. Once users confirm their settings, they can navigate back to the Gemini app > Apps Page to ensure that the Mind Space app is activated.
With everything set up, users can seamlessly interact with the app by simply typing @Mind Space followed by their query. For instance, a user might input “@Mind Space show my memories” to retrieve specific information. This intuitive functionality is designed to enhance the user experience, making it easier to access stored memories and insights.
Plus Mind serves as the overarching framework for the Mind Space app, which is now equipped with the Gemini Extension. This feature acts as a “smart screenshot assistant,” adept at organizing and suggesting content based on various criteria such as dates, locations, and fashion ideas. For users of the OnePlus 13s, accessing Plus Mind is as simple as pressing the Plus Key located on the side of the device. Meanwhile, those with a OnePlus 13 or 13R can initiate the process using a three-finger swipe up gesture.
Plus Mind also excels in content summarization, ensuring that images and information are neatly categorized, preventing clutter in the device’s Gallery. This thoughtful organization allows users to focus on the AI assistance they seek without distraction.
