Samsung’s Health App For Android Gets An Upgrade, You Can Now Track Your Medication On Smartphone

Samsung has unveiled a significant upgrade to its official Health app for Android, enhancing the user experience in managing health records. This update empowers individuals to seamlessly access their medical history, oversee their medications, and track their daily food intake—all within a unified interface. Such functionality is especially advantageous for those managing chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, PCOS, and PCOD, as it aids in adhering to their treatment plans.

What sets this feature apart is its thoughtful design tailored specifically for Indian consumers. Users can effortlessly input the name of their medication into the app, which then provides extensive information, including detailed descriptions, potential side effects, and essential safety guidelines. Furthermore, the app alerts users to any harmful interactions between different medications.

Personalised Reminders For Medications

The Samsung Health app also introduces the ability to establish personalised reminders for medication intake and refills. These notifications can be adjusted to suit individual preferences, offering a spectrum of options from gentle nudges to more forceful alerts. For those equipped with a Galaxy Watch, these reminders will appear directly on their wrist, ensuring that users stay on top of their medication schedules, even when their phones are not within reach.

In addition to medication management, the Samsung Health app is packed with advanced health features, including sleep tracking, mindfulness exercises, and alerts for irregular heart rhythms. By launching this medication tracking functionality in India, Samsung further solidifies its commitment to delivering comprehensive wellness solutions, empowering users to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Kyungyun Roo, Managing Director of Samsung Research Institute in Noida, expressed, “We aim to create a comprehensive health platform that allows people to better understand and control their health by integrating devices and services. With the addition of the Medications feature for India in the Samsung Health app, we hope users will be able to manage their medicines more conveniently, improve adherence, and eventually maintain better health.”

The medication tracking feature will be rolled out in India through app updates. According to the tech giant, the information provided is evidence-based and licensed by Tata 1mg. If users do not see the new feature, they are advised to update their Samsung Health app.
